Ask me if I would ever recommend chips or French's Crispy Onions or anything like that to bread a chicken and I would likely say 'NO'. You do not need these gimmicky crispy chicken recipes to make a crispy crust. There are two ... ONLY two ways that I bread chicken (Or bread anything really.) One method can be completely done in an oven with no deep frying and the second method works best with a deep fry but can be managed with a shallow fry.

Flour, Egg Wash & Bread Crumb Chicken Breading Method

Seasoned flour, egg wash and bread crumb method breaded chicken.

This is the method that I use almost exclusively. This can be cooked completely in the oven so it is quite versatile for use in almost all kitchens. This method is also extremely easy for beginner cooks. It is so easy that even kids can do bread this chicken. The seasoned flour, egg wash & bread crumb method is standard fare for most restaurants. Check out a more in-depth description on how to make this along with Chef Daddy's recommended recipe!

Flour, Buttermilk & Flour Chicken Breading Method

Sometimes your craving some extra crispy chicken from KFC or the such and want to know how they make it. Enter the Flour, Buttermilk & Flour method. This one cannot be beat for crispiness. This one needs to be done in a fryer for the best quality though. Check out a more in-depth description on how to make this along with Chef Daddy's recommended recipe!
